Obituary: Marilyn Erickson Moore Osborne, 84, of Branford

She enjoyed crafts with the Stony Creek Craft Ladies at the Church of Christ Congregational.

Marilyn Erickson Moore Osborne, 84, beloved wife of Donald Osborne of Branford, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Manchester Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert I. Moore.

Marilyn was born in New Haven, CT on April 3, 1932, daughter of the late Eric and Gwendolyn Opie Erickson. She grew up in Stony Creek, CT and was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at the VA Medical Center in West Haven, Hartford Hospital, and finally as a school nurse at Carmen Arace Middle School in Bloomfield, CT, where she had lived for many years. She enjoyed clubs and activities including sewing, the Bloomfield Garden Club and crafts with the Stony Creek Craft Ladies at the Church of Christ Congregational. She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lynda (and husband Scott) Moore of Manchester, CT, Sheryl (and husband Tim) Ruark of West Simsbury, CT, and Kathleen (and husband Peter) DaDalt of Lewisburg, PA; her grandchildren, Rachel (and husband Luke) Hahn, Esther Moore, Kaitlyn and Sean Ruark, and Alyssa and Benjamin DaDalt. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jonathan R. DaDalt. She is also survived by her step-children, Priscilla (and husband Donald) Grunewald of Nipomo, CA, Mark L. Osborne (and fiance Gretchen) of Ellsworth, ME, Elizabeth (and husband Alan) Lawson of Sunderland, England, and Thomas (and wife Sabrina) Osborne of Brewer, ME, and their families.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in the Church of Christ Congregational, 192 Thimble Island Road, Stony Creek. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery.
