Obituary: Martin W. Mattson of Stony Creek
Martin was a member of the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, the Ancient Mariners Drum Corps and American Legion Post 83.

Martin W. Mattson of Stony Creek died Sunday January 20, 2019 at Connecticut Hospice. Martin was born in Stony Creek March 17, 1932 son of the late Martin N. and Janet “Jenny” McLaren Mattson. He served in the U. S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked for the Department of Transportation for the State of Connecticut for many years until retiring. Martin was a member of the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, the Ancient Mariners Drum Corps and American Legion Post 83.
Martin is survived by his children, Barbara (Chip) Ott of Guilford, Susan Secondino of Stony Creek, Karl Mattson of East Haven and Bruce (Danise) Mattson of FL, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat “Missy.”Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Monday January 28, 2019 at 11:00 in the Stony Creek Congregational Church, 192 Thimble Island Road, Stony Creek. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery.
