Obituary: Mary Lomartra, 81, of Branford
Mary, who loved cruises with her husband and family visits to Disney World, was a Branford Hills Elementary School crossing guard.
Mary Lomartra passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Friday June 19, 2020 at her home in Branford. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Lomartra.
Mrs. Lomartra was born June 11, 1938 in New Haven, daughter of the late James and Lucy Porto Rocco. She had worked as a crossing guard at Branford Hills Elementary School and then as a physical therapy aide at Branford Hills Health Care Center for many years until retiring. She enjoyed her trips to the casino, going on cruises with her husband and going to Disney World with her family.

She had great love for her family including her children, Dr. Catherine Lomartra (John Byar), Joanne DiFormato (Paul), and Lisa Bailey (Jeff); her grandchildren, Natalie Marie Oncel (Ozy), Kimberly Ann Phillips, Nicole Marie Phillips, Justin Anthony Bailey and Austin Richard Bailey; her sister Patricia Hastings and her brother Michael Rocco. She was predeceased by her sister Gloria Coppola and her brothers James and Anthony Rocco.
Her family would like to thank everyone at Connecticut Hospice for their extraordinary compassion and care shown to Mary during her final illness.Funeral services are private at the convenience of her family.
