Obituary: ​Mary Louise Scully, 92, of Branford

Mary Louise Scully of Branford, passed away peacefully on Monday December 11, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Dr. Michael Richard Scully. Mary-Louise was born May 15, 1925 in Bridgeport, and was the daughter of the late Dr. Andrew McQueeney and Mabel Cunningham McQueeney. Mary-Louise graduated from Lauralton Hall in Milford, and went on to graduate from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts with majors in English and Theater. She later earned a Master’s degree in Education and taught at the middle and high school level.

She is survived by her children, Geoffrey Lawrence (Lynn) Scully of Trumbull, Elizabeth “Betty” Scullywest (Ed) of Seattle, WA, Mary Louise Scully M.D. (Ralph Zitnik M.D.) of Santa Barbara, CA and Terri (Cosmo) Corigliano of Old Saybrook; She was adored and loved by her ten grandchildren and her faithful Welsh Corgi dog, Flower. Mary Louise was predeceased by her son Michael A. Scully.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 11:00 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
