Obituary: Maureen Finta-Palmer, of Branford

Maureen worked as a Counselor at the VA in West Haven helping our men and women who served our country deal with their struggle of addiction

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, Maureen Finta-Palmer, passed away at the age of 84. Maureen will be forever remembered by her precious son Steven J Finta, Jr. and daughter Maura Guimares (Al). Maureen will also be forever remembered by her numerous dear friends of Bill W. Maureen worked as a Counselor at the VA in West Haven, CT for over 20 years helping our men and women who served our country deal with their struggle of addiction. Prior to working at the VA, Maureen worked as a Social Worker also helping people with addiction at the former Shirley Frank Foundation.

Maureen loved to help people, shopping, reading and on occasion, going to the casinos. The viewing for Maureen will be held on Thursday, November 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N Main Street, Branford, CT 06405. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Maureen on Friday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 731 Main Street, Branford, CT 06405. Burial will be private.
