Obituary: Maurice Garneau, 82, of Branford
An industrial engineer, before retiring, he was Director of Quality Assurance for Echlin Inc. and then IT Manager for Harco Labs in Branford

Maurice Garneau (fondly known as P-pa) passed away peacefully on Monday May 23, 2022 at Yale New Hospital St. Raphael Campus surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Dahl of Branford. He was the father of Michelle Aucoin (husband Joseph) of Brewster, MA and Todd Garneau (partner Jose Luis Arias) of Alexandria, VA. He was the step father of Jason Vincent (Amy Pawlak) and Morgan (Cherry) Vincent. P-pa is also survived by his granddaughter Emily Aucoin of Greenville, S.C., and his step-grandchildren Myles, Vada, Samuel, and Catherine Vincent. He was predeceased by his sister Alma Bouffard. Maurice was born in Waterbury on May 29, 1939, a son of Wilfred and Antonine Lamontagne Garneau.
A graduate of the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, his career was spent working in quality control in manufacturing plants on the East Coast. Prior to retiring he was Director of Quality Assurance for Echlin Inc. and then IT Manager for Harco Labs in Branford, CT.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 28 at 11:00am at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00am – 11:00am. Burial will be private.
