Obituary: Minnie Alessi, 98, of Branford

Minnie Alessi of Branford died Tuesday September 7, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Peter Alessi. Minnie was born in Chatham, NY October 29, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Rose Bencivinni. She had worked for many years in retail sales. Minnie is survived by her sons, Michael (Anita) Alessi of Wimauma, FL and Joseph (Judy) Alessi of Branford; and her daughter in law Marie Alessi of Sayville, NY, her grandchildren, Steven (Jenn), Gina (Dan), Jackie (Dustin) AJ (Amanda), and Billy (Taylor); her great-grandchildren, Jake, Morgan, Daniel, Siena, Chase, Paige and Morgan; her brother Salvatore Bencivinni of Long Island, NY, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Peter Alessi, Jr. her brother Leo and sister Ann Piazza.

The family would like to thank the staff at Whispering Pines Nursing Center and Branford Hospice for their care and compassion.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. John Bosco Parish in St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. There are no calling hours. A private viewing for the family will be at 9am prior to church service.
