Obituary: Nancy Jane Donovan McSherry, 84, of Branford

Nancy Jane Donovan McSherry of Branford, died Sunday November 27, 2016 at the Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Terrance L. McSherry. Mrs. McSherry was born July 3, 1932 in New Haven, daughter of the late Irving and Agnes Horan Donovan, and grew up in West Haven. She worked for many years at the Edward Malley Co. and the Yale Co-op in New Haven.

She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her time at the Blackstone Library in Branford. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children, Ted (Joanne) McSherry of Guilford, Eileen McSherry, Michael McSherry (Daryl Brockett) and Patricia McSherry, all of Branford, and Daniel McSherry of Old Saybrook; and her grandchildren, Jenna and Ricky Weiss of Branford. She was predeceased by her sister Frances Gilchrist and her brother Thomas Donovan.

Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Wednesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM.
