Obituary: ​Raymond P. Freund, 95, of Branford

Raymond P. Freund of Branford, died Sunday December 31, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of the late Doris Oppenheimer Freund. Ray was born April 22, 1922 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Adam and Elizabeth Freund. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II.

With the help of the GI Bill, he was able to graduate from NYU in 1948. He worked as a claims adjuster for Michigan Mutual Liability Company for many years before retiring. He is survived by his sons, Peter R. (Helen Stiller) Freund of Toronto and Paul B. (Kari) Freund of Branford; two grandchildren, Lindsay (David) DeGrasse and Ashley (Nick) Mauro, both of Branford; and his great-grandson, Zachary DeGrasse.
