Obituary: Richard Butler Jr., of Branford

Richard Butler Jr., long time resident of Branford died on Thursday June 30 at the Mid State Medical Center. He was the father of Rick Butler (wife Jennifer) of Branford, Kelly Miller (husband Raymond) of North Branford, and Evelyn Gombos (husband David) of Spring Hill, TN.
He was the brother of Paul Butler (wife Sandy) of West Haven. He is also survived by his companion Elaine Martone of Meriden, as well as 4 grandchildren, and his beloved dog Lou.

He was predeceased by his wife Christine Boyce (Penny) Butler and his brother Dan Butler
Richard was born in New Haven on August 18, 1938, a son of the late Richard and Mary Butler. He was a service technician in the oil business for many years, working for Parese Oil before going in to business for himself. He also served in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid fisherman and in recent years enjoyed golfing.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00-11:00.
