Obituary: Richard C. McGinley, 92, of Branford
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps in World War II, serving in the Philippines

Richard C. McGinley of Branford, died Monday May 30, 2016 at the Hospital of St. Raphael Campus, YNHH. He was the husband of 67 years to the late Dorothy "Dot" McGinley.
Mr. McGinley was born April 15, 1922 in Lakemont, PA, son of the late Charles and Matilda McGinley. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps in World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was a machinist for many years working for Winchester Repeating Arms, High Standard, Wilson Arms and Marlin Firearms.

He enjoyed the simple things in life. A keen observer of his backyard flora and fauna, he had a wealth of knowledge about nature. He loved to watch baseball, especially the Red Sox and college baseball. He also enjoyed the UConn Women's basketball team. We will miss his sense of humor and colorful observations of the world around him.
He was the proud father of Linda (Philip) Andros of Clinton, Dennis (Tracey) McGinley of Guilford, Douglas (Nancy) McGinley of Branford, and Kevin (Susan) McGinley of Higganum. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Leo McGinley, and his sisters, Erma Eiskant, Alma Watson, Helen Reagan and Joanna Hodges.
