Obituary: Robert J. McDonald, 90, of Branford
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a switchboard operator for the UI Company for many years until retiring.

Robert J. McDonald of Branford died Sunday August 6, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Ann Etzel McDonald. He was born in New Haven on July 27, 1927, son of the late Joseph and Anna Kane McDonald.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a switchboard operator for the UI Company for many years until retiring. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Dennis (Elizabeth) McDonald, Mary McDonald, Martin McDonald and Eileen McDonald (close friend Jerry Ganzle); his grandchildren, Ian and David McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his seven siblings, Margaret Soule, Harriet Clausen, Joseph McDonald, Anna Shappy, Agnes Moore, Jimmy McDonald, and Frances Navrotsky.Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, Branford.
