Obituary: Ronald P. Choronzy of Branford

He was a thirty-year member of the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, and he played the role of "Uncle Sam" in town parades for many years.

Ronald P. Choronzy of Branford died Tuesday January 8, 2019 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Michaele Haddon Choronzy. Ron was born in New Haven March 24, 1938, son of the late Philip and Mildred Thompson Choronzy. He served in the U. S. Navy. Ron retired as the service manager for MKB Industries.

He was a thirty-year member of the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, and he played the role of “Uncle Sam” in town parades for many years. Besides his wife, Ron is survived by his sons, Ronald Choronzy, Jr. of Grand Lake, CO, Donald (Rie) Berman of Nashua, NH, Michael (Kim) Choronzy, Benjamin Berman, Joshua (Jenny) Berman, Patrick (Christine) Choronzy and Brian Choronzy, all of Branford; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
