Obituary: Sally Hoyt Sitney, 85, of Branford
Sally was a past president of the Branford Garden Club and was a volunteer at the Homemakers Thrift Shop.

Sally Hoyt Sitney of Branford, died peacefully Friday July 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Sally was born March 13, 1931 in New Haven, daughter of the late Hallett and Emilie Buchter Schenck.
She was a graduate of Hamden High School and the University of Connecticut, where she remained a proud alumnus. Sally was a past president of the Branford Garden Club and was a volunteer at the Homemakers Thrift Shop.

She had many passions in life including gardening, painting, bowling, the beach, reading, playing bridge and swimming.
Her greatest passion was her family, daughter Kim LaPia of Guilford, son Jeff Hoyt of Branford, grandchildren, Carley LaPia, Carolyn LaPia, Alyssa Hoyt and Michael Hoyt, her daughter-in-law, Maria Hoyt, and a very special "sister" Pat Mansfield. She also leaves her wonderful friends, too many to name – most of whom she has shared a lifetime with.

She was predeceased by her son Mike Hoyt.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, 06405.
