Obituary: Salvatore William Coppola, 85, of Branford
A US Army veteran, he was a mechanic, tractor trailer operator, independently and for local companies, and worked for New Haven Terminal.

Salvatore William Coppola of Branford passed away peacefully at his home on Friday October 15, 2021. He was the beloved husband to Gloria Fucci Coppola and father to Elisa Mari Coppola.
Sal was born in New Haven on January 11, 1936 son of the late Joseph Coppola who emigrated to New Haven from Sorrento, Italy, and Margaret Gambardella Coppola of New Haven. He was the tenth of fourteen children; Ralph Coppola, Joseph Coppola, John Coppola, William Coppola, Rose Coppola D’Amato, Helen Coppola Lickteig and Harry Coppola have all predeceased him. He is survived by Mary Coppola LaFogg, Anna Coppola Papa, Margaret Coppola Canna, Anthony (Phyllis) Coppola, James Coppola and Elizabeth Coppola Streeto.

Sal served in the U. S. Army from 1959 to 1962 as an auto mechanic and was honorably discharged. For the majority of his working life, he was a tractor trailer operator, both independently and with local companies. His last position was at the New Haven Terminal until his retirement.
Funeral service and burial will be private.
