Obituary: ​Stanley Cwiertniewicz of Branford

Stanley Cwiertniewicz of Branford died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Friday November 30, 2018. He was the husband of Lorraine Nowakowski Cwiertniewicz of Branford. He was the father of Joanne Mulcahey (Thomas) of Bridgewater, MA and John Cwiertniewicz (Cheryl) of Glastonbury, CT. He is also survived by his step sisters Maria Esposito of East Haven and Sandi Patterson of Ontario, Canada, his half brother Felix Grabowiecki of Hamden, and his grandchildren Meghan, T.J., Cora, and Ava. Stanley was born in New Haven on March 4, 1943, a son of Stanley and Julie Wilczynyski Cwiertniewicz.

He worked as a comptroller for SNET for 26 years, where he was active in the Pioneers. He was also the co-owner of Buddy’s Corner in Branford. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 111:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford.
