Obituary: Susan Linda Elizabeth Suppe, 64, of Branford

Susan Linda Elizabeth Suppe, beloved daughter of the late Dominic W. and Grace Cappiello Suppe, died peacefully at home on April 25, 2016.

She was born March 5, 1952, and is survived by her sisters, Phyllis R. Suppe, with whom she resided in their family home in Branford and Angela P. Young also of Branford. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent H. Suppe. Susan is also survived by her godchild, Ashley Burke Cappiello of Branford as well as many extended family members.

Susan Graduated from St. Mary's High School in New Haven in 1970 and received her undergraduate degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY (now Fordham University).

She earned her Master's degree in communications from Fairfield University in 1976 and worked at the graduate school's development office at Fairfield U while she continued her education at the New School for Social Research in New York. She was a consultant for the International YMCA at their headquarters in Manhattan.

Most recently, Susan was the Executive Director of the Tabor Community Arts Center in Branford until her failing health forced her to close the program.

Susan had a passion for learning; she loved her family, the Cappiellos West, her pets, her home, her gardens and CNN. She was always aware of creating an opportunity for others to become their best.

There will be no calling hours. Please go directly to St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Susan will be interred in St. Agnes Cemetery immediately following Mass.
