Obituary: Susie B. Gordon, 85, of Branford

Susie B. Gordon of Branford died Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice, after a long illness. Susie was born in Branford November 4, 1930, a daughter of the late William H. Gordon, Sr., and Helen Gibbs Gordon, and she was a lifelong resident of Branford.

Susie worked for 27 years as a machinist at Echlin Corporation in Branford. She was a very active member at St. Stephens A. M. E. Zion Church in Branford. She was an avid bowler, gardener, seamstress, and a turtle lover.

Susie is survived by her son, Clarence Michael Gordon of New Haven; her brother, Russell (Martina) Gordon of Newark, NJ; her sisters, Mary Nelson of Wallingford, Betty Frazier of Moorestown, NJ and Ernestine Miller of Branford. She is also survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Johnny Gordon and William H. Gordon, Jr.

Friends are invited to a funeral service Wednesday morning at 11:00 in St. Stephens A. M. E. Zion Church, 31 Rogers St., Branford, and may call at the church prior to the service from 9 - 11. Burial will be private.
