Pediatrician Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patient: Branford Police

The pediatrician was arrested following a comprehensive investigation, according to police.

BRANFORD, CT — A pediatrician is accused of sexually assaulting a patient during a medical exam, according to Branford police.

Dr. Michael Sheehan was arrested Friday following a “comprehensive investigation” led by the Branford Police Department’s Detective Division, according to police.

Sheehan is accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female patient during a scheduled medical examination in late June, police said.

Sheehan has been employed by Branford Pediatric & Adolescents since July 1, 2008, and worked in both the Clinton and Branford offices, according to police.

Sheehan was charged with second-degree sexual assault. He was released after posting a $100,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 1.
