Plea Deal Reached In Branford Motel Killing: Report
Byron McDade, 41, was found dead in a room at the Branford Motel, the victim of a robbery, according to authorities.

BRANFORD, CT — The 30-year-old Middletown woman accused in the 2014 killing of Byron McDade at the Branford Motel has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and will serve 25 years in prison, reports the New Haven Register.
Lashanda Gregory was originally charged with murder in connection with McDade's killing, but the charge was reduced. In addition to manslaughter, Gregory also pleaded guilty to third-degree robbery, admitting that she stole McDade's money and cell phone, writes the publication.
The 41-year-old McDade was found dead on the floor of the motel room on July 3, 2014, bound and with a bedsheet around his neck. Surveillance video from a local business earlier that day showed McDade and Gregory together, which helped police identify her.
