Police Investigating Armed Robbery At Chowder Pot

Branford Police Deputy Chief John Alves said they're investigating an early morning armed robbery at USS Chowder Pot III restaurant.

BRANFORD, CT - Branford Police Deputy Chief John Alves said they’re investigating a robbery at the USS Chowder Pot III restaurant at around 8 this morning.

Alves said two employees were “confronted by two masked individuals at least one of which was armed with a handgun.”

Alves said one “employee was forced to open a safe and money was taken.”

Alves said the suspects fled the robbery at the eatery at 560 E Main St. in a car. He said the investigation is in its early stages.
