Philomine (“Phil”) Acunzo, 95, was an educator who began teaching at the Harbor Street School where she taught 3rd and 4th grades from 1955 to 1957 before taking time off to raise her family, she returned to teaching in 1968 at St. Mary School where she would remain as a beloved 4th grade teacher for 25 years.
Philip C. Koontz, 62, was a member of and a shop steward for Teamsters Local 443 in New Haven and, along with his son Joseph, he started the Giuseppe Miguel’s Sauce Company.
