UPDATE: Same Dog Bites 2 People in Branford; Owner Cited

One of the victims was a 12-year-old girl battling cancer. Police have cited the dog's owner.

Update: News 8 reports that the dog’s owner has been issued a citation, and Animal Control has the dog in its custody, and that will continue for 14 days.

The dog will also be required to wear a muzzle while out in public.

Original post: The same dog is accused of biting two different people in Branford including a 12-year-old girl who is battling cancer, WTNH News 8 reports.

It happened in the Short Beach area of town in a popular pedestrian area.

The first instance occurred Tuesday as the dog bit the 12-year-old girl.

Then it happened again on Wednesday where the dog bit a young adult in the same spot.

News 8 visited the area with the 12-year-old girl’s mother and they found the dog and its owner, and she told them that the dog just “likes to play with people.”

But the girl had to get a rabies shot, and police have been notified of the dog bites. The dog was up to date on his shots.
