Reported Burglary in Branford Turned Out to be a Bear: Police Commission Update
The Department's Chief ran through some noteworthy cases and developments over the past month ranging from mid September to mid October.

BRANFORD, CT — During a recent Board of Police Commissioners Chief Kevin Halloran updated members on some noteworthy crime stats and incidents from the last month, according to meeting minutes.
Here are the highlights:
382 tickets issued last month, a whopping 73 for distracted driving.

A suspected burglary occurred at an Applewood Road residence, but upon closer inspection it was actually a bear that entered the home. No arrest was made, as a side note! Halloran indicated bear sightings in town are decreasing now.
A shoplifting was reported at Kohl's, an arrest warrant is pending.

An iPhone was stolen along with cash from an unlocked locker at the YMCA.
An attempted burglary was reported at Willoughby's Coffee on Oct. 1.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a robbery at the Mobil Gas Station.
A suspect has been identified in an armed robbery oaf A-Plus Sunoco Gas Station. Officers are working on making an arrest.
