Republican Rich DiNardo Is Now In The Race For 98th District Rep Seat
An attorney and businessman, DiNardo's running as the GOP candidate for the 98th, which covers most of Guilford and part of Branford.

BRANFORD, CT — An attorney, businessman and published historian, who's lived in Guilford for 27 years, Rich DiNardo has thrown his hat in the ring as the GOP state representative candidate for the 98th district. The district covers most of Guilford and the Stony Creek and Pine Orchard sections of Branford.
He will face Moria Rader, who clinched the Democrat primary Aug. 9.
“I’ve always been a very practical, problem-solving person and look forward to taking on the problems facing our state," he was quoted as saying in a news release announcing his candidacy. "I’m particularly eager to talk with voters and small business owners to hear directly from them about their concerns.”

He said he's running because he's "concerned about the direction of the state."
Those concerns include: the impact of state policies on small businesses and working
families, the weakening of local control of schools and zoning, the rights of parents to
determine the best interests of their children, and Connecticut’s rising cost of living.

“If we don’t address these issues, opportunities will eventually disappear for all but the
wealthiest of our citizens and, especially for their children, to remain and thrive in our
beautiful state,” his statement reads. “For years we have seen jobs and residents leave the state as the business environment has deteriorated, and the state has become more unaffordable. By bringing a people-first, locally focused, common-sense approach to the legislature, we can secure a brighter future for Connecticut.”
DiNardo said he holds a bachelor’s degree in American history from Cornell, a master’s degree in international relations from Cambridge University, and a law degree from the University of Connecticut.
The news release notes that given, "he worked his way through graduate and law school building and operating small businesses in Connecticut, including a plastics factory and printing supply company, he is particularly alive to the needs of small family businesses and the people they employ."
