BRANFORD, CT — Last chance this year to dig out those cans, canisters and containers of household hazardous waste and dispose of it safely, and for free. And, it's also Drug Take Back Day so folks can get rid of lots of hazardous chemicals and poisons at once. Saturday Oct. 26 is the last date this year for free disposal of home, yard, garage and garden products.

We're talking about herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, oils, cleaners, polishes, paint thinner, stripper, swimming pool chemicals, latex and oil-based paints, stains, car repair fluids, gasoline kerosene, and mercury and mercury-containing items. No asbestos or gas grill propane tanks.
