'Saved From Slaughter,' Animal Shelter Seeks Duck, Chicken Homes

BRANFORD, CT — "Somebody just literally saved 35 ducks and chickens from slaughter."

The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter posted to its Facebook page that it was notified by "somebody" that they'd rescued 35 ducks and chickens from being killed and needed help finding homes for the birds.

It is not clear from where the birds were "saved." Patch has reached out to Cosgrove for more information.

In the post it's noted that the birds appear to be young and mostly, if not all, female.

On the social media post, people began commenting right away and many were laying claim to the birds.
