BRANFORD, CT — In the firehouse, Cippy's Sunday sauce and meatballs were legend because of the love imbued in everything he cooked. And everything he did. A fearless, dedicated first responder, he saved lives.
Retired Branford firefighter/ paramedic Paul Cipriani was the very definition of a hero.
Cipriani passed away this week after a "courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis," the Branford Fire Department announced.

"There is no single person who had a greater impact on Branford's emergency medical services then Paul," the Facebook post reads.
Cipriani was the former chief of Branford Ambulance Service before its merger into the fire department in 1993. He was one of the first paramedics to serve the town and was a tireless advocate of quality emergency medical services here, the fire department noted.

"Through his work and that of his students, Paul saved many lives and helped preserve the quality of life for countless more," they said.

"All of us here are heartbroken but take solace in our fond memories of Paul," firefighters wrote, but added, "Rest in peace brother, we got this."
