School Board Asks Community To Weigh-In On 2021-2022 Budget
An online survey gives folks the chance to rank budget areas by importance, which the board says will inform their spending plan decisions.

BRANFORD, CT — Usually, schools budget workshops and meetings include the opportunity to residents to have their say, but often not until the process is near complete.
Branford schools says it hopes the community will weigh in on what it thinks money should be spent on, in order of importance.
In an online survey, the district is asking residents to rank seven broad budget areas as school administrators and the education board work on the 2021-2022 school year’s spending plan.

The Branford Public Schools Board of Education says the survey will be used to “inform the board's budget priorities.”
Those priorities include class size maintenance, school day extension, expansion of summer school and adding activities, diversity and equity staff professional development, building maintenance, social and emotional support and learning, adding world language at the elementary level and expanded preschool programs.
