I-95 In Branford Reopens After Fatal Accident On I-95: Update
BREAKING: I-95 is closed in Branford this morning.

BRANFORD, CT — Interstate-95 northbound in Branford has reopened after a three-vehicle accident that shut down the highway for nearly four hours Friday morning, causing massive traffic congestion on Route 1. One person has been confirmed dead.
There is a five mile backup as of 11:40 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation. All lanes have reopened as of 1 p.m.

BRANFORD, CT — State Police say a serious accident has occurred on I-95 in Branford this morning and the highway is currently closed at Exit 55 northbound. Motorosits are asked to use an alternate route. The New Haven Register reports that the accident is now a fatal.
The accident involves three vehicles. The highway is still closed as of 9:35 a.m. Delays stretch back a few miles. State Police say the accident was reported at 6:44 a.m. The accident includes injuries, according to State Police.

Detour as follow, take Exit 54, right onto Cedar Street, left onto Route 1 follow to Exit 55 Nortbound on ramp.
