Several Branford Police Officers Earn Promotions
In front of a large crowd of families, friends, and fellow officers, each honoree was sworn into their new rank by Chief Halloran.

The Branford Board of Police Commissioners and Chief Kevin Halloran are pleased to announce the promotion of four members of the Branford Police Department. Last night a promotional ceremony was held in the Blackstone Library auditorium. In front of a large crowd of families, friends, and fellow officers, each honoree was sworn into their new rank by Chief Halloran.
Chief Halloran remarked that “The promotion of these police professionals, will certainly enhance the supervisory ranks, and continue the momentum of moving the police department forward.”

Those promoted are as follows:
Captain John Alves
Captain John Alves is an 18- year veteran of the department. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2012, and three years later, rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Captain Alves will now serve as the commander of the Patrol Division. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University. Captain Alves is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of New Haven. He is graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) and Roger Williams Command Training Series. Captain Alves has twice been awarded the Medal of Merit and received numerous Commendations and Unit Citations.

Lieutenant Dominick Eula
Lieutenant Dominick Eula was promoted from Sergeant and will now serve as the evening shift commander. He is a 10-year veteran of the department and an established member of the South Central Regional SWAT Team. Lieutenant Eula holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Southern CT State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Haven. He has received a Medal of Commendation and several Unit Citations.
Sergeant Rashaad Roach
Sergeant Rashaad Roach will now serve as patrol shift supervisor. He is an 11-year veteran of the department. Sergeant Roach earned a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College and he is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Sergeant Roach holds many instructor certifications and has been awarded nine Unit Citations and a Medal of Commendation.
Sergeant Corrianne Dionne
Sergeant Corrianne Dionne is a six-year veteran of the department and will now serve as a patrol shift supervisor. She is a member of the South Central Regional Traffic Squad and a crisis negotiator for the South Central Regional SWAT Team. Sergeant Dionne earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Arabic Language and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven. She has been awarded the Medal of Commendation for Life Saving and several unit citations.
