Shelley's Garden Center Celebrates 65 Years in Branford

BRANFORD, CT - If you’ve been in business for 65 years you’re definitely doing something right, and that is certainly the case at Shelley’s Garden Center located at 217 Main Street.

This year the self-described “mom and pop garden center shop” is turning 65-year-old, but Owner Yvette Chambers told the New Haven Register that the family owned businesses isn’t interested in a huge party or fanfare.

The owners say not much will change this year as they’ll just try and do what has worked so well for them over the past several decades. The owners say their family has been hands-on in making the business prosper and thrive over time.

One commenter on their Facebook page wrote, “Great selection, easy layout. The staff are helpful, honest and knowledgeable. The owners are extremely kind. It feels like family when I go to shop there.”
