Up In The Sky: Helicopters Check Vegetation Near High-Voltage Wires

In Branford, and 150+ other towns across CT, Eversource will conduct aerial surveys of greenery near its electrical equipment this week.

BRANFORD, CT — The question isn't where will helicopters be hovering this week, it's where they won't be flying. More than 150 towns, including Branford, could see, weather cooperating, Eversource aerial inspections of vegetation. The utility will be looking out for vegetation growing near its high-voltage electrical equipment on rights of way across Connecticut.

This inspection is part of the utility's "ongoing commitment to providing reliable electric service."

The work involves the use of a helicopter flying low over Eversource's lines to check for any encroachments from trees or other emerging issues.
