Someone's Trying To Steal Boats In Branford

BRANFORD, CT – Twice in the last month there have been attempts to steal boats out of a marina in town. Both times the attempted thefts have been thwarted but police are alerting both boat owners and marina operators to be on the alert.

The attempted thefts were both at Brewer Bruce & Johnson’s Marina, located on the Branford River. Police Chief Kevin Halloran said it “important that the community keep their eyes open” as to what is going on at the marinas in town.

He added that while many marinas have robust security systems in place, “the security systems are only as good as the people who pay attention to it.”
