Youth Sports

Families in Branford have several options when it comes to youth sports leagues and programs throughout the year.

Registration for Branford Soccer Club ends soon, so sign up now! From Tiger Kixx to travel teams, the season is just a few days away. The Branford Soccer Club is a volunteer non-profit organization created for and committed to promoting youth and adult soccer

Branford Youth Lacrosse registration is still open for kindergarten-age kids.

Youth Tennis Lessons

Youth tennis lessons are through the Branford Department of Parks and Rec. Munchkin is for kids ages 4 and 5. Introduction to the game of tennis through a variety of fun, skill-building activities. Children will learn fundamental stroke production and the ABC's (Agility, Balance, and Coordination) of tennis. Participants should bring a water bottle and have their own tennis racquet.

Junior is for ages 6 to 8. The participant will learn the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley with drills, fun games, and game situations. Scoring, strategy, and match play for singles and doubles will be incorporated. Participants should bring a water bottle and have their own tennis racquet.

And Junior Development is for ages 9 to 13. The program is open for all skill-level players who want to learn or continue to develop how to serve, keep score, and play a match. Participants should bring a water bottle and have their own tennis racquet. Learn more here.


Adult Leagues & Recreational Sports

Adults looking to stay active can also find opportunities to play and connect through local leagues and recreation programs.

Shoreline Social Sports has voluminous offerings for co-ed adult sports, including basketball, bowling, cornhole, dodgeball, flag football, kickball, softball, and volleyball. Check the website for registration info and more.

Cardio kickboxing, pickleball, and aquatics are among the options for adult rec at the Parks & Rec department.


Parks, Recreation & Community Programs

Local parks departments and community organizations often offer seasonal leagues, classes, and recreation programs for residents of all ages.

The Branford Department of Parks and Rec has myriad recreation and sports programming for youth and adults. For starters, T Sports Network will be offering volleyball clinics and VB courts at Foote Park for players aged 8 to 18 beginning April 21 through June 9.
