The arrests and discovery of the stolen equipment all began at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday in Milford when a police vehicle crashed with the burglary suspects car on Interstate 95 in Milford.
The burglary suspects were loading equipment into a van in the Naugatuck Avenue and Beaverbrook Road area, police said. Once the suspects van and police vehicle crashed the three suspects fled in foot, and Quintero and Figueroa-Flores were captured and a third suspect continued to be at-large on Wednesday.
Both Quintero and Figueroa-Flores were treated at a local hospital for injuries suffered from the motor vehicle accident and a K-9 bite to Quintero, police said. The officer in the struck vehicle was also later treated for minor injuries, police said.
