Stony Creek Brewery Names New CEO, New VP of Sales

New CEO Dan Shannon has 30 years of experience in the industry, with leadership positions in sales and marketing for many national brands.

BRANFORD, CT — Stony Creek Brewery announced it has appointed a new CEO, and a new VP of sales.

Dan Shannon was named CEO and David Morrice was named Vice President of Sales.

Shannon has more than 30 years of experience in the industry including leadership positions in both sales and marketing for multiple national brands including Budweiser Select, Michelob Brewing Company, Michelob Ultra, Rolling Rock, and Wanderlust Spirits craft brands Helix Vodka and Askur Gin.

As CEO, Shannon will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Shannon attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with an emphasis on small business management and entrepreneurship.

“I wanted to be a part of the Stony Creek story, and to continue the commitment Ed Crowley, Sr. has to his mission, the team, and the community,” Shannon was quoted as saying.

Shannon lives in Branford.

“Stony Creek Brewery has an exceptional culture that is embodied by everyone in the organization. I am grateful to be a part of it,” he said.

Stony Creek Brewery founder Ed Crowley, Sr., also announced that David Morrice was named Vice President of Sales. Morrice was the Director of Sales at Yazoo Brewing Company in Nashville and has more than 25 years of beverage industry experience. He attended the University of Kentucky and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Born and raised in New England, he lives in Branford.

Stony Creek Brewery is celebrating 12 years in business and is owned by the Crowley family, led by Ed Crowley, Sr., and Ed Crowley, Jr.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome both Dan and David to our family,” Crowley, Sr., said. “They are both clearly passionate about our beers, our ideals, and the philosophies we represent. We welcome them with great enthusiasm and promise.”
