BRANFORD, CT — Branford Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the Branford High School, 185 East Main Street, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after an alert neighbor walking in the area noticed a suspicious package in the bushes at the rear of the building, police said.

The caller told the Telecommunicator answering the phone call, “This is one of those calls that if you see something, say something…” and described to the Telecommunicator what she believed was an out of the ordinary package, said Police Capt. Geoffrey Morgan.

Responding officers located the package, which appeared to be a tightly wrapped garbage bag with an unknown content inside, police said.
