Therese (Tomaso) Amendola obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Therese (Tomaso) Amendola, 87 of Branford passed away April 3, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 17, 1938 in New Haven to Joseph and Clara (Brault) Tomaso. Therese is survived by her four loving and devoted children; Louis Monaco (Sherrie) of Madison, Jennifer “Wojie” Wojciechowski (widow of James) of Branford, Peter Monaco (widow of Diana) of Branford and Cara Norman (Frank) of West Haven along with nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, John Tomaso of Branford and Francis Tomaso (Cathy) of East Haven, brother-in-law, Nicholas Bagnoli and her former husband, Gabriel Monaco.

Therese is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Salvatore Amendola and a sister, JoAnne Bagnoli.

After 30 years, she retired from SNET/ATT, she was a volunteer for the Pioneers at the phone company. After retirement she worked in garden center at Bishops Orchards in Guilford. She led many hikes through the water company trails and hiked Chatfield Hollow and Devils Hop Yard for wildflowers and mushrooms. She volunteered many hours gardening at the church grounds at Our Lady of Pompeii, as well as the church Carnival in the fried dough booth. She was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was an avid crafter attending many Church Christmas craft fairs. Tray was a member of the Old Saybrook Lioness club for many years and the Guilford Fair Association.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 11 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven. Please go directly to the church on Saturday. Burial will be private and under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
