BRANFORD, CT – As the weather warms up and people head to the parks to enjoy the sun and have some fun, so do thieves. Police Chief Kevin Halloran, at the most recent Board of Police Commissioner meeting, said there has been a spike in thefts from automobiles and thefts of auto themselves from Branford’s parks in recent weeks.
“Lots of people are starting to visit the parks,” Halloran said. He said that Foote Park and Supply Pond have been particularly targeted. (To sign up for Branford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Halloran warned people who are visiting the parks to lock their car doors – and to not leave items visible inside their vehicles.
The chief said he is hoping to have some signs installed, soon, to warn people about the dangers of their cars being targeted at the parks.
