Tommy Fund Family Day 5K

Join us on October 4 for the 2015 Tommy Fund Family Day 5K, taking place at a new location this year at College Woods in East Rock Park!

New Haven, CT: The 2015 Tommy Fund Family Day 5K takes place at a new location this year at College Woods in East Rock Park. The event is held on October 4, 2015 and includes a 5K race, 1-mile walk and Kids Fun Run. The scenic course route is mostly flat and runs through East Rock park and passes a number of beautiful homes.

This family-friendly event features a post-race cookout and festival. The festival includes a moon walk, giant slide, kid’s activities, music, ice cream and more! The first 300 5K entrants receive free tech t-shirts. All other participants receive cotton t-shirts. Awards are given in the 5K to the top male and female overall finishers and top three male and female age group finishers. The 5K event again hosts the Police/Fire Challenge for all area departments to take part in. Awards are given to the top three teams.

The Tommy Fund Family Day 5K benefits The Tommy Fund, an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide emotional, educational, recreational and financial support to children with cancer and their families. The Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer Clinic is located at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Childhood Cancer survivors will be honored at this year’s event.

We encourage participants to fundraise for the Tommy Fund! Fundraisers who raise more than $100 for the Tommy Fund receive free entry into this year’s event.
