Truck Owned by Branford Company Crashes Into a River in Bristol: Police

The accident occurred Wednesday in Bristol.

BRANFORD, CT — A box truck owned by New England Beverage, of Branford, ended up in the Pequabuck River Wednesday in Bristol, Bristol police and the New Haven Register report.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at approximately 09:30 hours Bristol Police officers responded to the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Willis Street for a reported serious accident, police said.

Upon arriving officers found that a box truck had left the roadway and crashed into the Pequabuck River, police said. The driver of the box truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to Bristol hospital, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined that the box truck was traveling north on Willis Street when the driver lost control of the truck and crashed into the Pequabuck River, police said. DEEP was called for diesel fuel leaking into the river from the truck. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the accident remains under investigation, police said.

The New Haven Register reports that the box truck is owned by New England Beverage of Branford.
