Branford Scouting (Cub Pack 633, Troop 633/1633 & Venturing 633)

Branford Scouting has been building citizenship, leadership skills, and a spirit of adventure in youth for over 10 years, serving ages 5–20 through four dynamic programs. Through experiential learning, Branford scouts experience adventures from ice climbing to sailing in the Florida Keys, with campouts all year round for our older scouts. Our commitment to country is reflected in where we meet—serving our veterans at Branford’s VFW Post 12106—and through meaningful experiences like our recent trip to Washington, D.C., where scouts participated in the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and presented a wreath in honor of our fallen heroes. Our younger Cub Scouts also demonstrate patriotism by marching in parades and placing flags at cemeteries, just like their older peers. They enjoy fun and discovery at weekly meetings and through memorable outings, such as an overnight at the Norwalk Maritime Center, sleeping aboard the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts, and exploring the EcoTarium museum. This year, our Cubs will experience an evening at the New England Air Museum. Branford Scouting services the town of Branford and well beyond. Very proud of this team and especially proud to have Tom Ermini as our coach. We took the kids on a victory lap through town and a bunch of the parents made banners and signs.

Branford's 2026 4th of July Fireworks Details Released

East Haven's 24th annual Fireworks and Beach Bash is set for Saturday, June 27.
This year’s event promises a day filled with live music, great food, and festive fun for the entire family, according to East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora.
"This year’s Fireworks and Beach Bash carries special meaning as we begin looking ahead to America’s 250th anniversary," Carfora said. "It is a time for our community to come together at the beach, celebrate our country, enjoy great music and food, and show the patriotic spirit that makes East Haven special. I encourage everyone to join us for another memorable night on the shoreline."
A wide range of food trucks and local vendors will be stationed throughout the day, offering a variety of eats to suit all tastes.
Live entertainment lineup:
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Gunn St. Revival. From 7 p.m. until and after fireworks, The Rum Runners perform. Carfora said that "as it worked out so well last year," live music will continue after the fireworks, with The Rum Runners returning to the stage for a second set following the grand finale at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Also, 99.1 PLR’s Eddie Sab will be on site with giveaways and music from the PLR tent.
Please note that access to the beach area will be limited starting at 9 a.m., due to road closures. The East Haven Police Department will be assisting with traffic control to help ensure a safe and smooth day for all attendees.
In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be held Monday, June 29, with limited entertainment and the fireworks show.
While the Town proudly hosts the fireworks, this event is made possible through the generous support of local residents and businesses. Donations can be mailed to: East Haven Fireworks, 250 Main Street, East Haven, CT 06512.
