Waterless Toilets moves to Branford

Waterless Toilets, manufacturer of the popular “Laveo” dry flush electric toilet, recently moved to 4 Indian Neck Avenue in Branford, across the street from Stoney Creek Brewery.

Invented in Connecticut, the Laveo was introduced in 2012 and has grown in popularity around the world. Key markets include boating, camping/RV’ing, fishing, home care, small buildings, tailgating and trucking. A new market this year has been emergency management and disaster relief. For example, the Laveo was used to help citizens and relief workers during and after the disastrous Maui wildfires in Hawaii.

The Laveo portable electric toilet is waterless, odorless, chemical-free, freeze-free, low-maintenance and compact, measuring 16”W x 20”D x 18”H and weighing just 29 lbs. For comfort, the seat and height are standard toilet sizes. When done, users simply push the flush button as they would with a traditional toilet. However, instead of requiring water, extensive plumbing or expensive chemicals, the proprietary Laveo double-layered barrier bag automatically encloses urine and stool in a spill-resistant, odorless way. The dispenser automatically brings in new, clean barrier bag material for the next flush. The “go anywhere” Laveo toilet may be permanently installed or easily removed, utilized elsewhere and re-installed whenever needed.

Each barrier bag cartridge can handle an average of 15-25 flushes. Once full, a cartridge may be easily removed in a sanitary way and discarded in a trash container. There is no dirty water to dump or chemicals to pour. Installing a new cartridge takes less than one minute.

Power options include long-life rechargeable batteries, solar chargers and AC adaptors. A charger cable is included. Other options include handrails, privacy shelters and comfort lift packages. The standard Laveo is white, but it is also available in retro blue and black.
