Welcome To Branford's Newest Police Officer
Now the Branford Police Department's newest patrol division member, officer Couto is a retired state police sergeant.

BRANFORD, CT — What a time to join a police department! But we know that the community will welcome him with open, albeit far away, arms.
The newest member of the patrol division is Officer Jeffrey Couto, who began his law enforcement career with the Orange Police Department and retired as a sergeant with the Connecticut State Police. Raised in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
In a Facebook post, Branford Police said that Couto's most memorable moment "was delivering his son after he arrived quickly and six days early."
