1 Injured In 2-Alarm Bridgeport House Fire: FD
The fire was reported Monday night on Norman Street.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A house fire Monday night on Norman Street in Bridgeport left one resident suffering from burns to the hands and feet, according to Bridgeport fire officials.
The extent of the injuries was not known, but the person was treated at an area hospital.
Fire officials said the blaze was reported at about 8:50 p.m., and when firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was visible from the structure's first floor.

While battling the blaze, firefighters found fire in the basement, which resulted in the ordering of a second alarm.
"It was determined there was a bedroom in the basement and possibly a furnace fire as the cause," wrote Bridgeport Emergency Management Director Scott Appleby in a statement. "The fire is being investigated."
