1 Injured In Shooting In Bridgeport: Police
The shooting occurred Saturday afternoon on Iranistan Avenue, according to Bridgeport police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen Saturday afternoon in a shooting in the 1300 block of Iranistan Avenue, according to Bridgeport police.
The shooting occurred at about 4:45 p.m., and police were notified through a ShotSpotter activation. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection service.
Following the ShotSpotter alert, police also received a 911 call that the victim was being transported to the hospital privately.

"While en route to the hospital, the vehicle was met with AMR units along with BPD which began rendering aid at the intersection of Main St and Grand," said Scott Appleby, the city's Director of Emergency Management.
The victim's current condition was not available.

The case is under investigation by Bridgeport detectives.
