1 Killed, 2 Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On I-95 In Bridgeport: State PD
The two-vehicle crash occurred early Saturday near Exit 26, according to Connecticut State Police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — One person was killed, and two people were injured, early Saturday in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in Bridgeport, according to Connecticut State Police.
Danilo Mazariegos, 45, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital following the 1 a.m. crash near Exit 26. No address was given for Mazariegos, but state police said his next of kin had been notified.
State police said that the vehicle Mazariegos was riding in, a 2006 Saturn, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane, or the wrong direction, when it crashed into a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling southbound in the third lane.

The Saturn was driven by 42-year-old Stratford resident Tomas Oliva Castaneda, who suffered serious injuries that are not considered to be a threat to his life, according to state police.
The Grand Cherokee flipped over onto its passenger side following the impact, and came to rest in the median. Its driver, Frantz Michel Numa, 44, of Rosedale, NY, was treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center for minor injuries.
