2 Bridgeport Residents Claim Winning CT Lottery Tickets

The two lucky winners won while playing separate games, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two Bridgeport residents are each $10,000 richer this week after claiming winning lottery tickets, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Monday, James Brown Jr. claimed a winning "30X Cash 9th Edition" ticket he bought at Tobacco City on Chase Avenue in Waterbury.

The Connecticut Lottery publishes winner information as public record, according to officials.

Also on Monday, an unnamed resident matched four of five numbers and the Mega Ball on a Mega Millions ticket. Such a winning combination gives a player $10,000.

The 30X game, which costs $30 per ticket, began in January last year, and as of Wednesday, 17 grand prizes of $30,000 remained unclaimed. More than 1 million tickets of the game have been printed, and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.53.

For the Mega Millions game, the odds of a $10,000 win are 1 in 931,001.

The overall odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot, currently at an estimated $1.35 billion for Friday's drawing, are 1 in 302,575,350.
