2 Bridgeport Residents Stole Items From Macy's: Milford Police

Police say one of the accused's was found to have an open arrest warrant.

MILFORD, CT — Two Bridgeport residents are accused of shoplifting more than $400 worth of goods from Macy's at the Connecticut Post Mall, 1201 Boston Post Road, Milford police said. On Oct. 5, officers responded to Macy's on a report of two shoplifters in custody, police said.

Investigation led to the arrest of Tinisha Walker, 35, and Willie Simmons, 53, both of Bird Street, who are accused of taking $443 worth of items without paying, by removing store sensors with pliers and a magnet, police said.

Further investigation showed Simmons to hold an active arrest warrant, police said. He is accused of failing to appear in court for a larceny arrest in Fairfield back on Oct. 24, 2013, police said.

They are both charged with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and possession of a shoplifting tool. Simmons is also charged with second-degree failure to appear.
